In order to understand better the effects of thermal therapies on the human body, Ermitage Bel Air commissioned a scientific research project to the Physical Exercise, Health and Sports Activities Institute (IEFSAS) of the University of Milan.

The research activity started in 2007 and has an expected duration of three years, under the management of Prof. Arsenio Veicsteinas
